tAra Yoga Classes

Held on the first Friday of every month, this fun class has a different theme every month. It offers a unique physical challenge of posture sequences linked by vinyasa flow, designed to raise energy in the body while keeping the mind steady. Students of all skill levels will be accommodated in this class and will be challenged to work to their full potential. Get ready for some fun!!
In this class you will learn the basics of sun salutations, foundations of yoga postures and shapes, and the importance of connection with breath.  This class is great beginners with little or no prior yoga experience and for those interested in slowing it down and revisiting essential alignment, flow and breathwork priciples
We pride ourselves on gearing our classes toward the actual students in the classroom and not teaching a set sequence of postures that may not be suitable for everyone. This class will blend the basics covered in Level 1 (Basic) classes with a more moderate pace which is introduced in Level 2 (Intermediate) classes, depending on who is in the room that day.  Basic postures will be covered, and more advanced modifications will be offered for those ready to deepen their postures and yoga practice. See our class descriptions for Level 1 and Level 2 classes for more detail.
This is a moderately paced class and students continue to build awareness, strength, skill and focus.  It is helpful to have a basic understanding of sun salutations, but this is not required to attend the class.  Posture sequences will be linked by vinyasa flow, designed to raise energy in the body while keeping the mind steady. Various hand and arm balances may be offered, however, modifications are offered to make this class accessible to all students.
This all levels class offers a chance for you to slow down, find balance and restore mid-way through your week. The gentle, relaxing pace prepares you for a short sitting meditation to quiet the mind prior to savasana. If you've had an interest in starting a meditation practice, or are looking for a calming practice, this class is for you.
This class for all levels explores longer holds in more passive postures. We will work to find stillness and release muscular energy to lengthen the connective tissue and fascia throughout the body, allowing the Qi to flow freely. Enjoy this deep, meditative practice that will leave you grounded and centered, balancing mind and body.
